Who are we?
Queer & Trans Mutual Aid Massachusetts (QTMAMA) is a collective of LGBTQIA+ residents of Massachusetts who are seeking to bring the wider queer population together and foster the principles of solidarity, community, and mutual aid.
What do we believe?
We believe that the systems in place have failed us. Every day homophobia & transphobia is plastered over the news, our social media, and in our communities, and throughout the country our rights and our lives are under attack.
We believe that we must support each other. Being queer can be isolating and scary, especially now. We must come together as a community to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all LGBTQIA+ people.
We believe everyone has something to contribute. Do you have a car? You may be invaluable to helping someone get access to their hormone replacement therapy. Have an interest in graphic design? You may be able to help someone make an interesting GoFundMe post. Can you read tarot cards? You can give a community member guidance. Everyone has something to contribute.
We believe a better world is possible. Through mutual aid, we can come together as a community and become resilient and stronger, no matter what the world or the state throws at us. We must believe that change is possible, and we as a community are the ones who will make that change happen.
